THE CORSAIRS

York, England

Fresh faced three-piece indie band - bucking the trends and forging their own path, creating music bursting with youthful exuberance. Songs of kitchen sink drama and social commentary...backed by choppy rhythms and driving guitar...Bring it!

Having formed back in March 2022, the last year has been a bit of a mad one for The Corsairs. They played their first live show just a few months after forming (and only three weeks after finding a drummer).

They have since gone on to sell-out their own headline shows and act as support for several established and up and coming artists, such as Edgar Summertyme Jones, Andrew Cushin, Tom A. Smith and China Bears.

Last summer they played their first festival stage, and have followed up with a couple more this year. They supported Welsh indie legends Trampolene, first at York’s Fulford Arms (for Independent Venue Week) and then as special guests at Brudenell Social Club, Leeds. They’re just starting to spread their wings, with a trips across the Pennines to Preston and recent headlines at Sheffield’s Record Junkee.

The Corsairs have also managed to find time record a bunch of demos and to visit Young Thugs studios to record their second single Jackie the Know it All. They hope to head back soon to record a follow up.

They’ve already gained a reputation as one of the top local bands on the York music scene. All this in just over a year...roll on the next 12 months...
