THE CORSAIRS

York, England

Fresh faced three-piece indie band - bucking the trends and forging their own path, creating music bursting with youthful exuberance. Songs of kitchen sink drama and social commentary...backed by choppy rhythms and driving guitar...Bring it!

Formed in March 2022, the last year or so has been a bit of a mad one for The Corsairs. They played their first live show just a few months after forming and only three weeks after finding a drummer.

They have since gone on to support several amazing artists and bands, such as Edgar Summertyme Jones, Andrew Cushin, Tom A. Smith and China Bears, and regularly sell-out their own headline shows, the latest being for Independent Venue Week 2024.

They made such an impression on Welsh indie legends Trampolene, having supported them in York for IVW 2023, that they joined them as special guests when Trampolene headlined the Brudenell Social Club a few weeks later.

The band are now starting to spread their wings and play shows outside their home city of York, with recent a trips across the Pennines to Preston and headline slots at Sheffield’s Record Junkee.

They have recorded a whole bunch of original demos, with their most recent releases, He's a Horror, Primetime Television and Jackie the Know it All, both being recorded at York's Young Thugs studio on South Bank.

They’ve already gained a reputation as one of the top local bands on the York music scene. All this in just over a year...roll on the next 12 months...
